Biltmore Estate

It only took us 11 years of living in Asheville to finally break down and buy season passes to the Biltmore Estate

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about spending the summer out there!

We are one bike and a baby seat away from being outfitted as a family to ride their trails.  Well, paved paths since the shorties are still on training wheels, but whatever, it's way cooler to say we are hitting the trails :-)

We don't have a ton of desire to wrangle 3 kids among a sea of tourists through the house , but there really is soooo much more to see and do and we have already enjoyed a few Sunday afternoons tv and video game free!

Antler Hill offers cute shops, cafes and restaurants and old fashion lawn games.

We are pretty frugal, so we bring our own picnic or in this case, Brugger's Bagels and coffee.
Ben may or may not have had a chocolate chip bagel.
There is this little tree maze that the kids like to run through, race and chase each other.

We are also really enjoying the small petting area they have.

There are horses, chickens, goats, bunny rabbits, roosters, etc.

This week we saw chickens laying eggs. The kids thought that was super cool! Now Ben goes around the house with plastic Easter eggs in the back of his underwear.
Note to Self: Wash eggs before handling or filling with candies for the egg hunt.

Who doesn't love rolling down a grassy hill?!

We probably spent the most time over at this little area where they have yard games and an indoor area with checkers, crafts and other old fashion games for the family.
