Audrey's 3rd Birthday

For months Audrey has talked about turning 3 and wanting a "fairy princess party." I had pinned a handful of ideas and had started looking at invitations and then one day about a month before her birthday, she became obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and fell in love with Minnie Mouse.

She then started talking about having a "Minnie Mouse Party." It seemed a  little much having had a Minnie Mouse party when she turned 2 and then having a another one, but I went with it.... it's what she wanted and it is her birthday!

I contacted Little ONE boutique and put in a quick order for a birthday shirt... and started planning her little party.

We have this adorable coffee and sandwich shop, Baabals, a few miles from our house, that seemed like the perfect place to host a small party. The owner could not have been any nicer or more accommodating (especially when I arrived and needed him to remove all the Christmas decorations and get the parlor as pink and white as we could in about 20 minutes.)

We had arranged for the guests to have ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, and lunch from the menu if they were wanted.

I made the cupcakes and decorated them with fondant bows I had made the day before and mini Oreos. If you make these, it's a good idea to add the Oreos at the last minute. They tend to get soggy if you don't.

I had a sweet girl I've meet here in town make the Minnie Mouse cookies and I made the polka dot ones.

We had pink lemonade to keep with Minnie and Audrey's favorite color.

Audrey was in heaven having ice cream and playing games with her little friends.

Audrey was sick on her actual birthday (December 20) and we spent the day busy doing things at the boys' schools, so she really didn't get to be celebrated properly. She had really been looking forward to this day! We were so grateful for the friends and family who made the trip and made this the "best birthday ever!"

Happy 3rd Birthday
Audrey Kate!

We love you!
