Owen's V-day party

I won't lie, I love stressing over parties!

I started planning Owen's class Valentine's Day Party just after Christmas. I pinned a few ideas on Pinterest and surfed the internet for class activities appropriate for kindergartners.

I think me and one of the other moms pulled off a pretty cute and fun party!

We had 5 activity centers

#1
Decorate a cupcake
(I cheated and made homemade cupcakes. They are so much better than store bought) and brought in fondant hearts that I pre-cut,  sprinkles and icing.

#2
Service Project
The kids each made a Valentine's Day Card and gift bag filled with candies and stationary items for the bus drivers, cafeteria workers, specials's teachers, secretaries and principals.

They went in groups to deliver them the following day.

#3
Conversation Heart
sorting, counting and graphing activity

#4
Site Word Musical Chairs
(we used music from the Madagascar Movies)

#5
V-day Photo Booth
(I made, bought and borrowed props and set up a little space by the window for the kids to pick dress up items to wear and have their pictures made.)
Printable Props found

I'm only a picture taker, not a photographer, so these pictures are not perfect, but the kids make them super cute and they had fun, which is all that really matters!

This guy did some serious "photo bombing." I have ton of pictures of him, ha!

After a while, the straw started to give on the top hat, ha!

No worries, these two can find ways to have fun with other props.

I believe this little girl has Autism. When she started playing in the props, I couldn't help but snap away. I have a billion of her changing disguises.
Her glasses are backwards, but I wasn't about to tell her. She's so stinkin' cute!

Here's Nathalie, my partner in crime and party planning. She came up with the Service Project and Musical Chairs.
and provided hugs too when needed.

Mrs. Brown, our lovely assistant teacher

I love all of these kids!

Especially the one below on the far left :-)

Mrs. Jones unwrapping valentines with the kids. Love her!

Here are some of the props I made. They are not fancy at all. I found free printable online, printed them at home, cut them out and glues to cereal boxes and hot glued to white straws with red hearts that I found at Michael's.

I picked up tablecloths for the back drop. They worked OK  I could probably have unwrapped them before hand to get the creases out, but oh well. I never claimed to be a professional.

And all cupids and super heroes need a bow and arrow :-)

HERE is the link to the rest of the party pictures.
